The Yankees have signed Mark Prior to a 1 year incentive laden deal. If he makes the Major League roster he will make $750,000 with a chance to earn up to $1,500.000. I don’t think this is exactly the consolation prize the Yankees were looking for after losing out on Cliff Lee.
Prior looked to be the type of pitcher that would earn a Cliff Lee type deal someday. But now he is relegated to taking any offer he can get as he makes another attempt to salvage any semblance of a Major League Career.
Prior last pitched in the Major’s for the Cubs in 2006.
