It was reported earlier this evening that Jenks was set to sign with the Rays. However Mark Topkin of the St. Petersburg Times says that is not the case. A deal with the Rays is not close.

Ken Rosenthal says both the Yankees and Rays have interest in Jenks but a deal is not close with either team. Jenks slide in effectiveness the past three years has to be a huge red flag for any potential Suitors. His ERA has ballooned from 2.63 in 2008 to 4.44 in 2010. And his WHIP 1.103 to 1.367.
